When it does, the teeth become more susceptible to getting cavities or becoming infected. By applying a fluoride treatment, we can strengthen the teeth to reduce this risk. #3 – Dental sealant
If we notice that your child has deep ridges on the chewing surfaces of their teeth, we may recommend that to place dental sealant on them. A dental sealant is a plastic-like substance that we place onto the teeth. It only takes a couple of minutes per tooth, but once it hardens, it creates a barrier that will prevent food and plaque from actually touching the teeth. As a result, food will not get stuck, children can easily brush their teeth, and their overall oral health will drastically improve.
