Marieve Rodriguez, DMD Your Invisalign® Dentist
When you see Dr. Marieve Rodriguez, DMD for an Invisalign® treatment, you are seeing one of the premier specialists in the field of straightening teeth. As such, we have a great deal of experience in making sure that when you leave our offices at the end of your treatment, you have perfectly straightened teeth. This is because Marieve Rodriguez, DMD uses Invisalign® and is considered a premier Invisalign® dentist. Invisalign® itself has changed the very idea of how people think about crooked teeth. For many years, adults who had not straightened their teeth as youth were left to deal with malocclusion. Today, with the help of an Invisalign® dentist, you no longer have to worry about how you will look when you smile or deal with any other social stigmas that come with extremely crooked teeth.
Marieve Rodriguez, DMD knows there is a vast need for people to straighten their teeth. Across the nation, most people are shocked to learn that only 35 percent of the population have what are considered straight teeth naturally. For the remaining 65 percent, we all struggle with some level of malocclusion, which is what an Invisalign® dentist would call crooked teeth. Out of these, 15 percent have such severe malocclusion, it affects their life in drastic ways, like not allowing them to speak clearly or eat every food they would like to. When you factor in some of the other problems Invisalign® can fix, it is apparent that this revolutionary treatment can make a huge difference in people’s lives. Twenty percent of the country lives with bite defects. The human bite is where the top teeth and the bottom meet. In normal cases, these two sets of teeth are supposed to meet perfectly. However, for one in five people, they do not because they are not aligned properly. In the case of an over-bite or under-bite, one of the sets of teeth is protruding further out than the other. Having a misaligned bite can lead to major problems with the teeth, including uneven wearing down and cavities. Dr. Marieve Rodriguez, DMD can fix this as an Invisalign® dentist.
Invisalign® works on the same principle as regular, old-fashioned braces in that it uses pressure on the teeth to slowly push them out of their misaligned position into where you want them to be. While braces do this using wires and metal posts, when you have yours done by an Invisalign® dentist, we use a series of clear aligners to do this straightening. Every two weeks, the laboratory, based on the specifications sent to them by Marieve Rodriguez, DMD, will send you a new set of aligners roughly .25mm to .30mm offset from your current ones. As you wear these new aligners made custom for you, they will force your teeth to move into perfect alignment with the aligners, and hence be .25mm closer to where you want them to be. At the end of your treatment, typically a year, you will have straighter teeth.
