Dental Veneers From Delaware Dentist Marieve Rodriguez

Delaware dentist Marieve Rodriguez can discuss the many options you have for improving your smile. You can change the way you look and the way you feel by having dental veneers placed. We have found that many of our patients do not like their smile. Due to a gap in between teeth, a chip from childhood, constant staining, or irregular-shaped teeth, there are many reasons adults are not confident enough to show off their smile.

The problem is that a warm, open, and welcome smile is a sign and gesture of friendliness and goodwill. If you are not using yours, how people react to you on a daily basis will be directly influenced by that. You may find that people think you are not friendly or that you aren’t perceived as a good team player, all because you are not smiling. While this may seem unfair, it is the truth, so the best thing you can do about it is to take the steps to improve your smile so you can also improve your social interactions and life.

Delaware Dentist Marieve Rodriguez Can Change Your Smile

Dental veneers are thin porcelain shells that are created in the exact size and shape necessary to give you a beautiful smile. Even their shading can be selected ahead of time for a completely customized appearance. In this procedure, a small portion of the enamel on the surface of your tooth is removed ahead of time. Usually, this is only a millimeter or two, but it is necessary for ensuring that once the veneer is placed, it will not stick out or make your tooth appear to be overly large. Prior to removing your enamel, we will numb the area and give you anesthesia so you do not feel any discomfort.

Since we are removing a portion of your enamel, we will need to protect your teeth by placing a temporary veneer on it. Held in place by a water-based glue, this temporary can be pushed or knocked out-of-place if you bite down too aggressively or chew on something hard. This makes it important to exercise caution while awaiting your permanent veneer.

Once your permanent veneer or veneers are completed, we will call you back in to have the temporary removed and the permanent one placed. This is done by cleaning the tooth and then placing bonding cement onto it. Your veneer(s) is then carefully positioned on the surface of the tooth. Only once we are certain that it is achieving the desired result will we harden it.

Your dental veneers can be used to:

  • Close gaps in between teeth.
  • Make crooked teeth appear straight.
  • Change the shape or size of the teeth.
  • Cover dark stains.
  • And more.
